U.S. Postal Service to Sell Patriot Challenge Online

Saturday December 6, 2003
Patriot Challenge Inc., publisher of the Patriot Challenge game, recently announced that the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) has begun selling the game online. Patriot Challenge is a board game that uses reproductions of USPS stamps to help tell the story of our nation and test players' knowledge of U.S. history.

According to a press release, Patriot Challenge is the first game about America to feature colorful stamp art from the U.S. stamp collection.

Included among the 300-plus miniature works of art in the game are images that highlight significant events in American history including the Pilgrims arriving on the Mayflower, the Boston Tea Party, the Signing of the Declaration of Independence, and the moon landing.

"Patriot Challenge is a novel product that turns stamp images into a fun learning experience for American families and school children," said Pamela York, USPS manager of licensing, in the release. "The Patriot Challenge Game is a great addition to our product selection at our online Postal Store."

Patriot Challenge, a sort of trivia game, was developed by a panel of classroom educators and focuses players, ages 10 and up, on information about America. The game card questions are based on national curriculum standards and gameplay promotes teamwork, freedom of expression, tolerance and responsible citizenship.

"The Patriot Challenge game celebrates the American journey and stamp art brings it to life," said Chris Nelson, game creator and president of Patriot Challenge, Inc., in the release. "The United States Stamp Collection tells our nation's story, honors our accomplishments and reveals the spirit of the American people in a unique art form. We are very enthusiastic about being a licensee of the U.S. Postal Service and see this as an opportunity to share this valuable collection of Americana art with families throughout the U.S."
