Historic Games Exhibition in Rhode Island
The historical society is located in the old Washington County jail, the cell block of which was erected in 1858, with the jailer's residence added in 1861. The granite building served as the Washington County Jail until 1956 and became the home of the Pettaquamscutt Historical Society in 1961.
After renovations, the building reopened in May 2002 with a new exhibition gallery. Hours are Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday afternoons from 1 - 4 p.m. Group tours are available by appointment. $3 is the recommended donation.
For more information, call the historical society at (401) 783-1328.
