Bidding to play Monopoly with celebrities may become a hot new charity fundraiser. Recent celebrities to offer their time in this way include Cheryl Ladd and Martina McBride.
According to an article in the Tennessean, about a dozen celebrities -- including Ladd, McBride, Pam Tillis, and NFL wide receiver Derrick Mason were to play Monopoly with regular folks at a $175-a-head fundraiser.
Unfortunately, Ladd and McBride couldn't make it at the last minute. McBride, to make up for it, offered to auction a dinner and Monopoly game at her house with friends Faith Hill and Tim McGraw. That event sold for $7,950.
