Life-Size Monopoly Board

By July 28, 2003

Follow me on:

Today in Reno, Nevada, Harrah's Hotel-Casino will be home to a life-size Monopoly board. Players will roll giant dice to move actors -- dressed as the tokens -- around the board.

According to this article in The Orange Leader, a newspaper in Orange, Texas, the competition is not a regulation game of Monopoly.

Instead, the 125 players will first roll dice to narrow the filed down to 25. The next step is to draw a card; five cards say "Advance to Go" -- the players who draw these cards get to participate in the final round.

In the final round, the first player whose token makes it all the way around the board and back to Go wins $100,000.
