I'm the Boss - Board Game Preview
Face2Face Games previewed I'm the Boss at the recent GenCon convention in Indiana. It should be available in stores soon.
Kohle, Kies & Knete is my second-favorite negotiation game (although, due to time restraints, it gets played more often than my favorite, Diplomacy), and it's rated 7.46 out of 10 at BoardgameGeek. It's a fast-paced, sometimes harsh (so play with friendly players!), always fun cut-the-deal-and-make-some-money game.
Ted Cheatham, whom I see a couple times each year to play games with, had this to say on the discussion group Spielfrieks after seeing the GenCon preview:
"It looks great. ... The board now has a square track instead of the round and of course the people's names are in English. And I actually think that will help.
"The other change is money. They have made the money as a card deck instead of paper money, and they have added $2 bills to help with the money mix. And, now that the money is on cards, you can play with money face up or face down.
"Finally, they added several of Sid's variants to the rules that you can try optionally. Three I remember: (1) you do not change order of players after an I'm the Boss card; (2) if you have less than 4 cards you cannot make a deal but must roll and draw; (3) after the 10th deal you may only hold 10 cards instead of 12.
"Anyway, it looks first class."
